Many students struggle with crafting a research title due to a lack of ideas or because of specific considerations from the adviser. Unlike other types of research, the title of a feasibility study (Feasib) usually does not require dependent and independent variables. In most schools or universities, feasib title is simply the business idea, the proposed company name, or the product/service name.
Business Idea Checklist
Can’t think of a business idea? We, your accounting Ate and Kuya, got you covered. Here’s a list of what the research advisers usually check:
✅ Match Your Course
Align your product or service to the skills or knowledge you learn from your program.
Think: How can your studies spark a business? If you’re taking tourism management, maybe a travel agency. If you’re studying hospitality management, perhaps a unique food service. But if you’re a business management student, you can do anything that drives profit.
Example: If you’re an engineering student, you can create a simple battery management system that promotes efficient power use.
✅ Identify a Need or Resources
Solve a problem in your community or use what’s around you.
Think: Look for what your neighbors complain about, or what resources are abundant in your area. Is there too much plastic waste? Is a certain fruit always in season?
Example: If there’s a lot of excess produce, you could turn it into healthy, bottled juices. Or, if locals struggle with clean water access, create a water filtration solution.
✅ Keep It Doable
Start with something you can actually manage right now.
Think: What can you realistically do with your time, skills, and budget? Don’t aim for something you can’t accomplish.
Example: Instead of building a car, start by making accessories, like an ergonomic car seat headrest or a long-lasting car scent.
✅ Be Unique or Improve It
Stand out from the crowd! Offer something only you could provide.
Think: What’s missing in the market, or how can you make something that already exists even better?
Example: Instead of selling generic gifts, create a “Flower Kit for Stress Relief”. This kit will include easy-to-grow flowering seeds, a small pot, soil, and simple instructions, branded as an eco-friendly way to de-stress.
✅ Go Eco-Friendly & Healthy
Make a positive impact on people and the environment.
Think: How can your business be kind to the environment and good for people’s well-being?
Example: Offer reusable packaging for all your products, or ensure your ingredients are locally sourced and organic.
